Prologue
Our story began a long, long time ago when ancient Greek philosophers gathered together to, well, philosophize. In their wisdom, they reasoned that four elements comprised all matter:
- Earth
- Water
- Air
- Fire
Some time later, Aristotle proposed a fifth element, which he believed permeated all the other elements. Medieval scholars referred to this as the fifth essence, quinta essentia, or what we know today as quintessence.
Quintessence is energy, momentum, and substance. It is the most perfect embodiment of a quality or thing. At 5ifth element, it is our aspiration.
